Proscan
Technical specifications
|
|
Planmeca's Proscan is a multimode imaging system which combines
three imaging complexes in one machine: narrow beam tomography,
plain film linear tomography and cephalometric radiography
techniques. These combinations of different techniques enable
Proscan to have almost an unlimited number of radiographic
programs for the diagnosis of dentomaxillofacial anatomy.
Proscan is the complete imaging system in one x-ray machine.

True linear tomography programs

The Proscan linear tomography system produces
straight tomographic slices from any part of the maxillofacial
region including maxilla, mandible and temporomandibular
joints. These tomographic images can be cross-sectional or
longitudinal and are adjustable to any specific angle. This
provides the utmost in versatility for diagnosis of
dentomaxillofacial anatomy. Adjustable and uniform image
thickness of 1, 3, 6, 9, 18 or 36 mm maximises the diagnostic
value and provides excellent details. The image area can be
selected either manually or automatically, and it is based on
pre-programmed shapes and sizes of human anatomy. This system
provides undistorted radiographs under all anatomical
conditions, and maintains a 1.5 constant magnification for
accurate diagnostic measurements. Other unique features of
Proscan are multilayer and/or multiprojection images taken
separately or combined on one film.
