Panoramic imaging
Standard panoramic program Improved orthogonality program: The X-ray beam is perpendicular to the jaw. Improved interproximal angulation program: The X-ray beam and the interproximal contacts of the teeth are parallel. The teeth do not overlap. Magnification correction panoramic program: The horizontal magnification is equal to the vertical magnification.

Paediatric program
The paediatric program automatically selects the narrow focal layer and reduces the exposed area and patient dose by 35%.

Horizontal and Vertical Segmenting
Horizontal and vertical segmenting offers alternative methods for panoramic imaging. Any area of the patient's anatomy can be exposed separately simply by selecting it from the control panel. Patient dose can be reduced by as much as 93% compared to full area panoramic exposures.

Film, chemicals and dark room are not needed anymore. The x-ray image appears on the computer screen in real time. Dimaxis software allows the use of numerous image processing tools, which dramatically increase the image information and its diagnostic value. Dimax2 can be added to the Planmeca ProMax unit also afterwards as retrofit.
